In 1928, He started a magazine of his own in the tradition of The New Yorker, called the Modern Milwaukeean for which he created striking Art Deco covers, designs, typography and illustrations. An illustrator for several newspapers including the Milwaukee Sentinel, Milwaukee Journal, and Chicago Tribune from the 1920's thru the1960's. He illustrated the daily fashion newspaper column "Alice in Fashionland" for the Milwaukee Sentinel in 1925. He was also a popular pin-up girlie art illustrator. He also illustrated books, posters, and calendars & designed greeting and playing cards.
This piece measures 13" by 11" and is shown matted with a pseudo suede brown mat to 18" by 15" overall. Signed lower right and with his address label and titled on the back. Probably dates from the 1950s. The photos are considered to be part of the description.
